End of the Year Letter

Posted about 5 years ago by Shelagh Larson

As we reflect back over the last month, we can say we are survivors. We lived through the Holiday Office Party season, “End of the World, as we know it”, Hanukah/Christmas/Kwanza, and the dreaded Gift Returns line. Now as I take down my beautiful Christmas trees for another year of hibernation, I am looking forward. Looking forward to the Financial Cliff, #82 Texas Legislature, state and federal changes in healthcare and the new TV lineups rules that will affect us every day.

But before we can do that, the NTNP Metro West needs elect new board members. Up for election this next meeting is the position of Vice President and Treasurer. The position of Vice president in the past has served as program chair as well as running meeting in the absence of the president. Peggy Orr has served as Vice President/Programs for five years and is ready to pass on the torch. Tami Ray was elected last year in a special election that separates secretary and treasurer. She has done a fabulous job keeping track of our funds. If you are interested one of these positions, I encourage you to self-nominate. If you know someone that you think would be really beneficial to the group in one of these positions. Please nominate them. I suggest you contact that person first to see if they would have interest. Please email me or Diana with your nominations.

Also, January starts a new year for NTNP-MW. Diane Jones and Emily Easton of TNP are working as we speak to provide a way for our members and those of TNP, to pay both dues together. You could pay both membership dues to from our website or through TNP. If you are writing a check, you can write one payment that will cover both. Tami will forward that payment to TNP. If you are not a TNP member this is a great opportunity to join and receive the many benefits that group has to offer.

Peggy is working on the final arrangements for our January and February meetings. Stay tuned! Have a safe and healthy New Year!

See you soon,

Shelagh Larson, WHNP, NCMP
