A note from Gladney to their supports
Hi Gladney friends,
Last night- the outreach department hosted the North Texas Nurse Practioners Group’s monthly dinner meeting. We were excited to host this particular meeting because it was during NAM and it was also Nurse Practioners’ Week! This is a very skilled and dedicated group of nurses from all over the Metroplex and from various medical organizations- JPS, Harris, and Parkland to name just a few. Though this was a small event (15 nurses) their hearts were HUGE.
Susan Stone, a Gladney baby and board member provided this opportunity. As part of the event, attendees were instructed by the NTNP to either bring a donation or write a check. I was so touched by the amount of clothing, diapers and birthmother treats we received. In addition, each table had giving envelopes. This event raised $1,234. 00. Part of this money was from a fund they collected called Dollars for Diapers. This means that throughout the year the nurses passed around the hat and people could donate their loose change. They raised over 300.00 from this effort. The group requested this donation be earmarked for diapers for TC parents.
As the event came of a close- the director of this organization called for a motion. She asked the group if Gladney could be their philanthropic organization of choice. The motion was passed!!
Feeling grateful for the opportunity to meet these outstanding professionals.
