I am a preceptor for Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) students through your program. As a board-certified PMHNP licensed in Maryland and Washington, DC, I am passionate about contributing to the professional development of future providers and supporting the growth of the psychiatric nursing workforce. With strong clinical experience in evidence-based psychiatric care, I offer students hands-on exposure to comprehensive mental health services, including psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and psychotherapeutic interventions. I prioritize trauma-informed care and integrate cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and other modalities into treatment planning. I believe in creating a supportive, engaging learning environment where students are encouraged to think critically, ask questions, and develop clinical confidence. I understand the importance of modeling professionalism, cultural humility, and ethical practice in every patient interaction. I am committed to providing constructive feedback, completing student evaluations in accordance with university guidelines, and fostering a collaborative relationship with academic faculty. Podiatry Clinic - Foot health is crucial to a person's ability to stay active and fully engage in their daily life. Our team of podiatrists treats a wide range of foot and ankle issues, including chronic wounds, bunions, and arthritis. We utilize minimally invasive podiatric surgery to enhance patient outcomes by simplifying the healing process and minimizing scarring. In addition, by prioritizing limb preservation through public health education, close clinical monitoring of high-risk patients, and reconstructive and regenerative techniques, we strive to address issues before they become limb-threatening, thereby preserving mobility and preventing the cascade of morbidities that often follow amputations.

Our podiatry team works closely with vascular and endovascular surgeons, orthopedic surgeons, and other collaborators to provide patients with individualized care tailored to meet their specific needs. Our managed care office provides patient-centered healthcare with a focus on continuity, quality, and coordinated care. We serve as your primary healthcare home, offering comprehensive services to meet your ongoing health needs. The student will have the opportunity to have hands on practice with real patients; see the leadership aspect of being an NP.

Primary care clinic that also provides care to LGBTQ+ and heterosexual population for PrEP/Doxy Pep/ HIV treatment. We are heavily involved in the community and provide free STI testing q 3 months for anyone. We are also a 340b clinic and practice under that for all PrEP/HIV management. We see PCP for all populations. This would be a great fit for someone wanting exposure into this community. We are open M-Th 9-4 with a lunch from 12-1, Fridays 9-12.

I am available for 1 student starting July 7, 2025. I am flexible and can provide a fun, collaborative learning environment to someone with the desire to work in this community. Primary care is also provided and will serve as a good foundation for experience and learning.

Gastroenterology, I was also a endoscopy procedural nurse for 5 yrs and I have been a GI FNP for 2.5 yrs. I also specialize in parenteral nutrition and do a tube feed/nutrition clinic every Tuesday & Thursday that includes our registered dietician and our tube feed nurse. I am also do work-ups for not only macronutrient but also micronutrient deficiencies. I am certified to adjust Enterra gastric pacemakers. I also do a nutrition clinic with pulmonary for Cystic fibrosis patient's once a month along side our dietician. This also means I am specialized at treating patient's with pancreatic insufficiency and I am very comfortable with pancreatic enzymes. I do manage a few TPN patient's. I also do liver work up's and see patient's with one of our hepatologist in Liver Disease Clinic (LDC) 1-2x/mth.

The preceptor ship will focus on gastroenterology and all of the different disorders/diseases associated with the GI system. There will be an entire day of preceptorship where the student will be observing procedures to incorporate the visual aspect of what normal and abnormal GI system can look like.

Private practice in Grayslake & Spring Grove, IL. Visits are done virtually and in-person.

The student should be interested in the business, legal, AND clinical aspects of Psychiatric & Mental Health Care as a Nurse Practitioner. We will be interacting and collaborating with many other mental health professionals and developing partnerships with community resources. Some of my specialties include Veterans Health and addiction medicine. We are part of the Community Care Network for the Veterans Health Administration. Ideally, we will be busy with patients as we continue to grow.
